On controlling one’s blood sugar levels in the presence of Belgian waffles

I can’t resist the Belgian waffles at the Mandarin Oriental’s breakfast buffet; but it’s already sort of cheating just to have the waffle even without adding maple syrup. Fortunately for me, among the spreads and toppings they keep available are nice warm spreadable cinnamon butter, and also honey.

So now I know pretty much exactly what sopapillas would be like if they had been invented in Belgium.
